Sweet shy boy

Hello! My name is Gus, and I'm a little scared of people, but when you're asleep I'm a very curious and playful dude (shh it's a secret I'm not ready to share with the world yet). I'm FIV positive, but don't let that scare you! I'm the same as every other cat, it has no impact on my sweet purrsonality whatsoever! I've had a really rough start but I'd love to find an owner with a lot of patience to give me time to settle into a forever home, with time I think I'll warm up to the idea of letting you love me.
Notes from Gus' foster mummas: Gus is a very shy boy, we've had him for a month but he's made so much progress in that short time. He's now comfortable enough that he properly groom's himself and eats in our presence, he's slowly tolerating more pats and likes to come out and explore the house when we're in bed, watching TV or studying quietly. At night is when he has the most fun, doing crazy runs around the house and pinching random things to play with from around the house (his favourites being socks, beanies and ping pong balls). Gussy has a long way to go, but with lots of love and patience from the right person we believe he will make an excellent companion. He's best suited to a quiet household, and as he's FIV must be indoor only. Come meet Gus!

Here is an update from my foster carer: "Gus is a very shy boy, we've had him for a month but he's made so much progress in that short time. Please come and meet me in my new foster home in Carlisle.

Gus is one of our special FIV positive cats. This means you need to take extra special care of this handsome man. FIV+ cats have to protect their immune systems - just like humans who have recovered from a health issue. So you will need to ensure he has his annual health check and vaccinations plus regular worm and flea treatments (just as you would for any cat). To protect both him and other cats Gus must be an indoor cat.

Want to adopt me?

To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:

Phone: 9442 3633
Email: fostercare@cathaven.com.au

The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
