Pursonality traits

Hi there I’m Max

And I’m waiting for you whilst I relax

I’m looking for a retirement home

One that I can call my own

I’ve still got a few years to live

But heaps more love to give

Let me say I like to chat

Please make sure I’m your only cat

I feel like a kitten sometimes when I play

And I’ll wait for you patiently and see you at the end of the day

Body is not what it used to be

And cuddles can be a difficulty

I’m looking for a home to discover the world

Then at night I belong on your bed curled

I found a way around cuddles for you and me

If you give me a pat I’ll give smooches for free

I have many stories to tell

I was the cat haven office cat and that went well

I’d love to see you at a meet and greet

Just know sometimes I feel under the heat

Once you get to know me you’ll soon understand

See how well behaved I am firsthand.

I promise to love you forever more

Please come get me I’ll meet you at the door.

Max has hypertyroidism which means he has overactive thyroid glands. Thyroid hormones help control the body's metabolic rate and cats with hyperthyroidism tend to burn up energy too rapidly and typically suffer weight loss despite having an increased appetite and increased food intake.

Max is on medication called Methimazole. This is topical cream. He must receive the correct dosage every day, it is very important that he does not miss a dose. He is currently on .08ml twice daily, applied topically to the inside of his ear. As this is a transdermal cream you must wear gloves when applying. As his owner you must ensure that he is kept medicated and that you don’t run out of his medication.

Want to adopt me?

To meet me in foster care please contact our foster care department on:

Phone: 9442 3633

The foster carer will then be in touch to discuss this further and arrange a meeting. If after leaving your details you have not heard from anyone after 48 hours, please let us know. Once you’ve decided to give a foster cat or kitten a furrever home you’ll need to come to Cat Haven in person to complete the adoption paperwork before taking them home. We can’t wait to hear from you!
