Homesafe ID Microchip Update

We want to make you aware of an important issue regarding the HomeSafeID microchip registry.

From 2011 cats adopted from Cat Haven had their microchip registered with HomeSafeID. Keeping your contact details updated with the microchip registry is crucial, if your pet ever goes missing, a microchip significantly increases the chances of being reunited, but only if your details are correct. With HomeSafeID shutting down, if they are registered with this company, now is the time to act and transfer your pet’s details to another microchip registry

What You Need to Do:

  1. Find your cat’s microchip number.
  • This can be found on your adoption paperwork from Cat Haven.
  • If you need Cat Haven to look up your cat’s microchip number, please head to our website here and fill out the form at the bottom of the page to submit your details, and we will check our database for you. If you adopted before 2013 we will not be able to find your details, please contact you vet for your cat's microchip number

   2. Check where your cat’s microchip is registered.

  • Visit Pet Address and log in to see your cat’s microchip registry details.
  • If it is registered with HomeSafeID, you will need to transfer it to another service.

   3. Re-register your cat’s microchip with a new provider.

   4. Ensure your pet has a visible ID tag.

  • A collar with an ID tag helps ensure a quick return if your cat is found.

We strongly encourage all adopters to take action as soon as possible to ensure their pets remain protected. If you are looking for more information head to our website here to read more

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
